At Kaiser Permanente, we are committed to providing world-class cancer care and service through a comprehensive, coordinated approach. That’s why we invite all KPMAS employees, physicians, and their friends and families to join us for our 6th Annual Cancer Survivor Day on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Universities of Shady Grove, 9630 Gudelsky Dr., Building 2, Rockville, MD 20850. This annual event honors our members and their loved ones living with, through, and beyond cancer for a day of celebration and support.

Register and find more details for the event here.

The event will have workshops and sessions led by our physicians and care teams that include:

  • Nutrition planning
  • Breast, colon, lung, skin, and prostate cancer sessions
  • Genetics and hereditary cancers
  • Cancer and sexuality
  • Cancer research
  • Alternative medicine
  • Meditation
  • Qi Gong and Gentle Yoga exercises
  • Life Care Planning
  • Cancer Survivorship and Support

Our Mobile Health Vehicle will also be onsite with screenings for total cholesterol, HDL, glucose, blood pressure, and BMI. We hope to see you there!

Cancer Survivor Day is just one facet of the exceptional care and service we provide to our members. Did you know that our cancer program recently received a Three-Year Accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons? To earn the CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet or exceed the CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a stringent in-person and data survey process and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. 1. Great, it’s happening on 1st June. Will attend the event for sure and also bring some of my colleagues who are having cancer problems running in their family. Thanks for spreading the word.
