We’ve said before and we are proud to continue to say it. We rank #1 in the nation on quality and consistently provide world-class health care to our patients.

As validation of our commitment to quality, we are excited to announce that the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons, has granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to our cancer program.

This accreditation is a testament to the highly coordinated, exceptional care our award-winning physicians and employees provide every day and signals to our members and their families that we are a trusted partner as they make important care decisions. You are national leaders in the early detection of cancer as well as innovative, coordinated cancer treatment, and your dedicated and collaborative work is the reason why we have earned this accreditation.

As part of the accreditation process, KPMAS demonstrated how a non-hospital based, integrated delivery system across more than 30 facilities provides integrated, comprehensive cancer care to our members. In addition to securing accreditation, we also received five commendations – a rare accomplishment to occur as part of an initial accreditation.

To earn the CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet or exceed the CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a stringent in-person and data survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.  This year, we met all required standards plus we were specifically commended for 5 areas including our oncology nursing care, pathology reporting, and clinical trial recruitment.

The CoC Accreditation Program provides the framework for KPMAS to continue to enhance the quality of our member care through various cancer-related programs that focus on the full spectrum of cancer care. These include prevention, early diagnosis, cancer staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, life-long follow-up for recurrent disease, and end-of-life care. We are extremely proud to earn this distinguished accreditation and honored to receive special commendation.

Thank you for your continued dedication to our members and for providing world-class cancer care.
