Kaiser Permanente proudly sponsored the 2023 annual Capital Pride Parade and Festival, a two-day celebration to support the LGBTQ+ community in and around D.C.
For several years, Washington D.C. has welcomed thousands of guests including sponsors like Kaiser Permanente to the Capital Pride celebration, and this year marked their 48th anniversary.
On June 10 and 11, more than 150 Kaiser Permanente volunteers including security personnel, friends, and family members participated in the Capital Pride Parade and Festival. Volunteers were proud to walk with the organization’s float in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Also, our volunteers supported the spin art bikes, encouraged participants to visit the mobile health vehicle, distributed giveaways items, and shared information about Pride Medical located within Kaiser Permanente’s Capitol Hill Medical Center. The mobile health vehicle provided onsite screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, body mass index, and cholesterol.
“Our commitment to the delivery of compassionate, high-quality, judgment-free care is possible because those are the characteristics embodied by the individuals who work for and represent Kaiser Permanente,” said our Regional President Ruth Williams-Brinkley, in support of Pride Month and Pride Medical at the Capitol Hill Medical Center.
“For the rest of June, and every day throughout the year, let us remember that we are proud to stand behind, to stand next to, and to stand up for the LGBTQ+ community,” said President Williams-Brinkley.
