Kaiser Permanente in the Community – The Value of Biking for Total Health

1

Earlier this month, Kaiser Permanente had the honor of supporting two amazing events in Baltimore city and county schools. In partnership with the Maryland Sports Commission, the Maryland Cycling Classic, and the Bahati Foundation, Kaiser Permanente donated 50 bicycles to Battle Grove Elementary and Holabird Academy to promote total health.

These bicycles were assembled by Kaiser Permanente employees and unveiled at two events in the local community. “This partnership aims to inspire and empower inner-city youth and promote healthy lifestyles through the sport of cycling – leading to future successes both on and off the bike,” said Cynthia Cifuentes, Vice President, Brand, Communications, and Community Engagement at Kaiser Permanente, Mid-Atlantic.

Kaiser Permanente believes that good health begins with healthy communities – and schools are at the heart of every community. The donation of 50 bicycles is one way to promote total health in our communities and inspire children to get active
