Celebrating World Mental Health Day

0

Every year on October 10th, people around the world observe World Mental Health Day to raise awareness about the importance of mental health, mental health services, and mental health workers worldwide. This day provides an opportunity to share new mental health initiatives and to discuss how to make mental health care more readily available to people worldwide.

As we recognize World Mental Health Day, we want to thank our outstanding team who work tirelessly to improve the emotional health of our members. We at KP believe that emotional health is just as important as physical health and want to thank our behavioral health psychiatrists, psychotherapists, psychologists, nurses, mental health assistants, case managers, and the entire team for the extraordinary care and service they provide.

Kaiser Permanente is committed to leading the nation in improving the way mental health care is delivered. We are proud of the advances we have made over the last several years. Read more about them here.

Also, as part of our commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of our workforce, we’re partnering with Healthy Workforce to launch a new Mental Health Online Training for all managers, employees, and physicians this month. We hope that you’ll take the training to better understand and identify the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions and be able to assist someone—a co-worker, colleague, or loved one—in need.

Our Behavioral Health Providers and the entire team continue to innovate to improve our mental health services and give patients the tools and treatments they need to build resilience and improve their health. Thank you for your commitment to providing extraordinary mental health care to our members.

Regards,

Jennifer Facteau, Regional Director, Behavioral Health
