Kaiser Permanente is a lead sponsor of The Basketball Tournament (TBT), which is a nationally televised tournament open to any team that hosts games in different cities annually. This year, for the second time, the semi-final and final games will be hosted in Baltimore. Morgan State University, a partner of Kaiser Permanente in a variety of work, will host the games.
Kaiser Permanente employees are invited to participate in multiple volunteer opportunities as part of TBT. Managers may also want to do a team-building event with your teams at one of these volunteer opportunities. Find details below and sign up today!
TBT Health City Health Fair
Join TBT players and fans of for the annual TBT Day of Giving, which includes a Health and Wellness fair. Volunteers are needed for the health fair located inside the Mondawmin Mall (see details below). There will be two shifts needed, 9 a.m. – Noon and 12:30 – 4 p.m. More than 15,000 people are expected to attend this event.
Volunteers at the Health Fair will set up KP tables with resources, answer questions, and distribute resources and swag to participants. We would like to have three to five volunteers at the station during both shifts. Volunteers will also help break down equipment, table area, and clean up space used. KP staff will be onsite to provide blood pressure and body composition screenings.

TBT Day of Giving Community Transformation
Another component of the Day of Giving is a Community Transformation. Volunteers are needed on August 3rd from 10:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a cleanup and beautification project of neighborhoods in Upton/Penn North (see address below). There are two shifts, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Volunteers will plant green spaces, remove trash, and paint.
