Last week, Celeste James, Director of Community Health Initiatives for Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States, spoke on a diabetes panel hosted by The Hill, titled “Closing the Diabetes Gap”. She shared the stage with experts from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the American Medical Association, and other leading health foundations. It was a great chance to demonstrate how Kaiser Permanente goes beyond our excellent care to consider the full spectrum of variables that determine one’s health. The panelists discussed prevention, community interventions, and eliminating disparities in care.
