The Battle of the Beltways series between the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals started early this year. The two teams took to the diamond on May 8, and the series will end May 11.
Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States employees showed their spirit at regional office May 9, with a celebration that highlighted the Battle of the Beltways series. As part of our sponsorships with the teams, the Baltimore Orioles team mascot was in attendance and brought enthusiasm to the office, and the rivalry.
Employees enjoyed ballpark fare, popcorn, and a guessing game raffle. The lucky winner who guessed 2,635 balls and fruit was Jean Harvey (the actual number of balls and fruit was 2,617). Jean won a pair of tickets to a future game. The second place winner was Tracey Akers with a guess of 2,549; and Zijian Hang and Theresa Brooks both receive an honorable mention for their guess of 2,500. There were 118 entries. Congratulations to the winners!
