Molly Young joined Kaiser Permanente as a new member in 2017. At her first appointment, she expressed a concern about a lump that she had. As an example of the speed of care that we can provide for our members, the next day, she found out that it was breast cancer. Just a few days later, Molly met with her entire multidisciplinary team of physicians who had already developed the best possible plan for her treatment. As an accredited Cancer Care Program by the Commission on Cancer and through our coordinated care approach, Molly did not have to worry about going between the insurance provider, hospitals, and doctors; all of that stress was lifted off of her so she could focus on getting better and getting back to what she loved-music.
“I felt from day one, in the darkest time of my life, I could still laugh, and I could still have joy, and I could still be myself thanks to Kaiser Permanente,” she said. Watch the rest of her story here.
