This weekend wrapped up the third annual Light City Baltimore festival, and Kaiser Permanente’s presence permeated the streets of Baltimore through art, light, and innovation. We helped the city shine as a sustaining partner for the festival, as Kaiser Permanente employees and their families joined local Baltimore community groups for a week of events that focused on our goal to help the city become one of the safest and healthiest in the nation.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in planning, executing, and volunteering to make it a monumental success! Check out some of the highlights below:
Parade
As the exclusive sponsor of the Opening Parade, Kaiser Permanente led the parade, with KPMAS President Kim Horn and Baltimore Mayor Pugh kicking off the event on Saturday, April 14. More than 100 employees joined with their family and friends to participate with Doc Broc, stilt walkers, and a drum line.
Kaiser Permanente Thrive Garden
Kaiser Permanente exclusively sponsors of two art exhibits at our Thrive Garden in West Shore Park: On the Wings of Freedom and Prismatica.
Labs @LightCity
Kaiser Permanente sponsored and hosted HealthLab@LightCity on Thursday, April 19. The event brought together local and national thought leaders to explore emerging technologies and innovative practices that have the potential to affect the quality of life and outcomes for all people, both here and around the world.
Rise & Shine Fitness Walk
Kaiser Permanente was the proud exclusive sponsor of the Rise & Shine Fitness Walk on Saturday, April 21. More than 100 participants walked around the 1.5-mile tour around the Inner Harbor. We also hosted Zumba and other wellness activities, like a children’s obstacle course presented by FX Well. The Mobile Health Vehicle was also onsite to offer free blood pressure and body mass index screenings.
Thank you again to everyone who made this amazing event possible, and we look forward to next year!
