This week, the Kaiser Permanente family and the broader Mid-Atlantic region lost an important friend and colleague. We are saddened by the loss of David Harrington who served as the Senior Director of Community Relations and Stakeholder Engagement for the Mid-Atlantic region. David joined Kaiser Permanente in April of 2022 and brought an incredible spirit and vision to his role. His past work as a Maryland State Senator, local mayor and county council member were testaments to David’s commitment to the communities in our region.
In his brief time with our organization, David made long-lasting contributions that will support our mission of improving health well into the future. His kind, gentle and thoughtful approach touched the hearts of many throughout his career and here at Kaiser Permanente. David will be missed by those who knew him and who had the opportunity to work with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with David’s family during this difficult time.
We are taking some time to process this loss and support those who are hurting from this news. We have joined others in lowering our flags to half-staff in honor and memory of David. We are considering how to best celebrate and recognize David’s life and many contributions to the region. Information will be shared soon.
