KPMAS Employees Support Virginia Special Olympics at Dulles Plane Pull

Several Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States (KPMAS) employees spent Saturday, September 17, volunteering at the annual Dulles Plane Pull. The event supports the Virginia Special Olympics. Volunteers arrived early to set up the KPMAS exhibit and to ensure all participants had a meaningful and educational experience.

Since the first Plane Pull was held at Dulles International Airport, Virginia Special Olympics has raised more than two million dollars for athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state, and also started a worldwide plane-pulling phenomenon. Today similar Plane Pulls are being held throughout the country. Along with dozens of other sponsors and organizations, Kaiser Permanente helped to raise over $325 thousand dollars (and counting) for the Virginia Special Olympics in one day alone. KPMAS volunteers had more than 300 people visit the KPMAS exhibit. Special thanks to those KPMAS employees for taking time to support such a great cause and put smiles on hundreds of faces.
