Save the Date! 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Volunteerism Focuses on ‘Healthy Futures’

0

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is Kaiser Permanente’s annual day of service and volunteerism, when thousands of employees go out into their communities to give back.

As we approach the holiday season and the start of a new year, we encourage employees to start embracing our 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day theme, “Healthy Futures.” Consider supporting healthy futures for local students and families by donating to DonorsChoose.org, an organization that supports teachers in high-need communities and connects them with donors who would like to help. To find out more about the organization, please visit www.donorschoose.org.

We are also excited to announce plans for our 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day volunteer activities, which will focus on education and youth, the cornerstone of building “Healthy Futures” for children and families. Mark your calendars, there are three ways you can participate in Martin Luther King, Jr. Day activities next year:

  • Volunteer at the NBC 4 Expo in our DCSM/NOVA service area on January 9 or 10. Additional details about the opportunity can be found on KP Cares.
  • There are opportunities to volunteer at a school in Baltimore City and Prince George’s County on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 18. Additional details and the KP Cares link will be shared in the coming weeks.
