The KPMAS New Carrollton Administrative Building is progressing rapidly in preparation for its early 2019 opening. The main building is well underway, and the parking garage is nearly finished. The new $131 million and 176,000-square-foot facility will include a wide array of benefits for more than 850 KP employees from across KPMAS, KPIT, and PO, including:
- walkable surroundings
- a modern fitness center
- on-site cafeteria
- a conferencing center and clinical training center
- environmentally friendly design
Employees will benefit from a state-of-art workspace that supports employee health, well-being, safety, innovation, collaboration, and productivity.
An additional 180 individuals from the Regional Office and 88 administrative positions from medical centers throughout Prince George’s County will also be relocating to New Carrollton. The new facility is located at the New Carrollton Transit Center at 4000 Garden City Drive, Landover, MD, which boasts a wide range of residential and retail options as well as a community park.
The new state-of-the-art facility is located directly behind the New Carrollton Metro stop, which will provide employees easy access to both Metro orange and purple lines, MARC and Amtrak trains, as well as 25 bus lines and Interstate 50 and 495.
Internal office space will include perimeter workstations and centrally located offices to allow for more natural light throughout the facility. Conference rooms will be scattered throughout the facility and will be equipped with standard AV equipment. Each floor will have vending and lounge seating, and the first floor will feature a cafeteria offering dining service from Fooda, a unique food service featuring “popup” restaurants with daily rotating menus. Fooda works with top local restaurants and partners to provide great food at low prices for employees to enjoy.
