Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States is continuously looking for ways to better serve our ever-growing membership to ensure members receive the right care, at the right place, at the right time. A large part of that equation includes the various services members seek, such as lab tests. That is why KPMAS is excited to announce a major expansion planned for the Regional Laboratory in Rockville, MD.
Our regional laboratory analyzes and provides results for both anatomic and clinical pathology tests for our nearly 1,500 providers and growing membership. In addition to more than 80 laboratorians and staff, the Regional Laboratory is also home base to the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group Pathology medical services, comprising 15 pathologists who support the diagnoses of more than 150,000 member cases annually.
The new lab will include state-of-the-art laboratory technology, including a fully automated chemistry and hematology line. This expansion will allow KPMAS to perform industry-leading, high-quality laboratory testing at an affordable cost and will aggregate all laboratory administrative departments under one roof, bring improved efficiencies to our delivery system.
