We are excited to announce that as part of our strategy to serve our growing membership in the Baltimore service area, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States has secured approximately five acres of undeveloped land in Timonium, MD, located north of the Baltimore Beltway adjacent to I-83. We are in the early planning stages to construct a multi-specialty medical center that is tentatively scheduled to open in 2021. The new center will be open 24/7 and will offer primary and specialty care, including expansion of a full range of specialty services that are currently only offered south of Baltimore.
Timonium will provide better access and convenience for those members in North Baltimore and nearby areas. The proposed site at 2391 Greenspring Drive has excellent visibility from Interstate 83 and is located at the Timonium Fairgrounds Light Rail Station, part of the Baltimore Light Rail system adjacent to the Maryland State Fairgrounds. This location, which will have access to rail and bus systems, enhances accessibility to our members and employees who rely heavily on public transportation, and will connect members from downtown Baltimore.
