As we ring in the New Year, we are excited to announce that the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC) transition is complete with the recent transition of pediatrics. As we announced last fall, our newest premier hospital partner brings together Kaiser Permanente’s amazing care team and coordinated services with BWMC’s hospital-based resources and expertise.
BWMC has provided Maryland residents with the highest quality health care for over 50 years. This partnership benefits our members and employees because it supports our growing Maryland membership, helps us meet increasing demand for hospital-based services, and expands our specialty services offerings.
Kaiser Permanente members can experience the KPMAS’ award-winning care and coverage in a dedicated 24-bed unit within BWMC. Hospital-based services with Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group physicians include:
- Internal Medicine
- Cardiology
- Gastroenterology
- General Surgery
- Hematology/Oncology
- Infectious Disease
- Nephrology
- Neurology
- Orthopedic Surgery
Specialty services are also available to Kaiser Permanente members at BWMC and include a cardiac catherization lab, interventional radiology, medical and surgical intensive care, and a level II special care nursery. Expectant mothers with due dates January 7, 2019 and beyond will deliver at BWMC. Pediatrics transitioned from St. Agnes on January 7, 2019.
BWMC is located at 301 Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The hospital offers easy access for members and employees from multiple highways including I-97 and Maryland 100.
This exciting new partnership is another important step towards realizing our mission and ensuring our members have access to our high-quality, award-winning care.
