Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States (KPMAS) again ranks highest in customer satisfaction for the Mid-Atlantic in the J.D. Power 2015 Member Health Plan Study. KPMAS was recognized as highest ranked along with four other Kaiser Permanente geographic regions, where the national health leader provides care and coverage to approximately 9.6 million members.
Kaiser Permanente’s commercial health plans received the highest score in five of the study factors, including information and communication, provider choice, customer service, cost, and coverage and benefits. And, for the seventh consecutive year, Kaiser Permanente has ranked highest in overall member satisfaction in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
The J.D. Power 2015 Member Health Plan Study measures member satisfaction among 134 health plans in 18 regions throughout the United States by examining the experience of a health plan member in key areas such as: coverage and benefits, cost, provider choice, customer service, information and communication, and claims processing.
The study reflects the results of a survey that was conducted from November to December 2014 and completed by more than 31,000 members of commercial health plans. Each health plan included in the J.D. Power 2015 Member Health Plan Study was measured on a scale of 1,000 points. Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States earned 762 points, 91-points above the regional average and 79-points more than the next highest ranked health plan.
Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc. received the highest numerical score among commercial health plans in the Mid-Atlantic region (VA, MD, D.C.) in the proprietary J.D. Power 2009-2015 U.S. Member Health Plan StudiesSM. Study based on 31,543 total member responses, measuring six plans in the mid-atlantic region (excludes Medicare and Medicaid).
