Dr. Bernadette Loftus, associate executive medical director for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, is featured in a recently published business management book titled Fix It: Getting Accountability Right. The book is authored by the popular bestselling authors of The Oz Principle, Roger Connors and Tom Smith, and focuses on the importance of accountability in the work place.
Creating and maintaining a transparent and participative leadership style are among Dr. Loftus’ key leadership attributes. In the segment Make Your Investment Obvious: No Flybys Dr. Loftus promotes the idea of being personally invested in her organization and being close enough to the business to know what is really going on. According to Dr. Loftus, “This means being up far enough to manage, but down far enough to be where the work actually gets done, sleeves rolled up, to see and hear what’s really going on.” This is one of Dr. Loftus’ quotes that helped the authors take readers to the next level of experiencing the results of personal and team accountability and learning about the sixteen accountability traits that lie at the heart of success for individuals and organizations. Dr. Loftus’ skillful style of leading is referenced multiple times in Fix It: Getting Accountability Right.
