A Smile is Everything
“I love being a nurse; and for me, a smile is everything. I notice that when I smile at members and coworkers, I get lots of smiles back. I remember taking care of a scared little boy while trying to give him a vaccine. I promised him that I will try to be gentle and that he would only feel a pinch and he trusted me and allowed me to give him his vaccine. After I gave him his shot, he told me that he did not feel any pain at all. He had tears of happiness in his eyes. He asked me if he could hug me and of course, I said yes. That made my day, and that is why I love being a nurse.”
