Just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the Department of Imaging Services will offer 3D Mammography at our South Baltimore County Medical Center (effective as of September 9, 2019), and Tysons Corner and Gaithersburg Medical Centers (effective September 22, 2019). This cutting-edge technology is currently available at our Falls Church and Kensington medical centers, with plans for expanding this service to Largo, Capitol Hill, and Shady Grove in Q4. Digital 2D mammography is available at most centers as standard of care.
This is the latest news in how we’re leading the way in mammography. Earlier this year, we announced that we provide instant mammogram screening results, with more than 90 percent of patients receiving their results in less than 30 minutes from the completion of the mammogram to report finalization, with an average time of 12.8 minutes.
