At Kaiser Permanente, we know a healthy mind is a critical component of total health. To help our members on their mental health journey, KPMAS hosted more than 1,000 members for our second annual Mind & Body Wellness Day on December 10.

The engaging event explored ways to help our members manage anxiety, depression and other issues that contribute to the stress they experience in their daily lives. Throughout the day, our expert psychiatrists, therapists and health educators, guided participants through workshops on topics ranging from the power of mindfulness, to managing anxiety and learning about the best nutrition for a healthy mind. Members also had the opportunity to participate in relaxing activities like yoga, meditation, art therapy and even a massage.

Dr. Rao Tripuraneni underlined the importance of the day’s activities during remarks to all participants when he said, “Better mental health leads to better physical health. There is always a healthy mind behind every healthy body.”

We’d like to thank the more than 100 volunteers who helped make this event a great success; we couldn’t have done it without you!
