HYATTSVILLE, Md. — As we enter the fall season, Kaiser Permanente is uniting health and happiness through its Wellness Weekend event series, a family-friendly initiative designed to inspire healthier living by providing preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and access to high-quality healthcare. The series reinforces Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to improving the health of its members and the communities it serves, while empowering families to take charge of their well-being.
Taking place at Kaiser Permanente medical centers across the region, including Haymarket, Va.; Bowie, Md.; and Timonium, Md. on November 8 and 9, the Wellness Weekend series transforms each medical center into an interactive hub for health, featuring free screenings, wellness demos, family activities, and opportunities to learn more about Kaiser Permanente’s integrated care approach.
Coinciding with Open Enrollment, Kaiser Permanente invites both current and prospective members to experience how their integrated care model delivers coordinated, compassionate, and convenient care for every stage of life.
Each wellness event will feature:
- Fall Festival Experiences with local vendors, flu shot offerings, seasonal activities, and interactive wellness stations.
- Kids Zone programming designed to inspire healthy habits and movement for children.
- Physician and Expert Engagement, offering direct access to Kaiser Permanente doctors and health professionals for on-site Q&As.
- Facility Tours highlighting Kaiser Permanente’s integrated care model and commitment to convenience and accessibility.
The wellness event series coincides with the close of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and the beginning of American Diabetes Month (November), creating timely opportunities for attendees to access free resources, screenings, and education related to prevention, early detection, and better health outcomes.
“Our Welcome to Wellness series is about meeting people where they live, work, and play,” said Charima Young, senior director of Community Relations at Kaiser Permanente. “It’s a reflection of Kaiser Permanente’s promise to make care simpler, smarter, and more human, so families can live healthy, productive lives at every age.”
Each stop in the Wellness Weekend builds on Kaiser Permanente’s mission: to improve the health of the communities it serves, one connection at a time.
